THERE could well be some frantic angling being undertaken by West Coast Sea Angling Club members over the holiday as there is a four-way tie on species at the top of the club’s winter league, which finishes on 31 December.
Since the beginning of November Shane Huxster has taken over the lead from Shane Bentley.
Huxster had two qualifiers, a 4-1-12 grey mullet and a 4-15-2 ballan wrasse, and now stands on 13 species and a percentage score of 773.13.
Bentley also had two worthwhile fish, a 1-12-8 three-bearded rockling and a 5-6-14 ballan wrasse, to take his score up to 13 species and 743.53%.
It was a similar scenario for Billy Forman. His two qualifiers were a 7-5-0 small-eyed ray and a 1-13-14 golden-grey mullet. He is now on 13 with a score of 676.46% to hold on to third spot.
