Jensen’s joy

KATHERINE JENSEN has won the U-15 girls Tom Elton Barret Memorial Squash Tournament in Bishops Stortford – her first off island title of the season.

Also competing in this tournament were Jacques Scowen, Niall Adams and Jack Turvey, who also excelled.

Jensen, 13 (pictured), playing up an age group to gain more experience, had an easy first round victory over Bryony Paczy Smith.

In the second round she played Herefordshire’s Natasha Drake. Again she won comfortably, dropping only two points in the entire match.

In the final Jensen came up against Essex’s Anna Kimberly, beating her 3-1 to take the U-15 title.

‘I was very pleased that I was able to compete at the older age group as it gave me great experience,’ said Jensen.

Jacques Scowen also had a very successful weekend.
