Dedication pays off for those at top of their game

IF THERE were an award for dedication to one sport, Jeremy Frith (pictured) would be high on the list of contenders every year.
But while some may match his effort and enthusiasm, not many also match his talent.
Guernsey’s own ‘Mr Cricket’, who is currently coaching the island’s development squad in the UAE, racked up four centuries for his club Cobo during the summer, averaging more than 68, and also claimed 36 wickets at a cost of just 10 runs apiece.
His value to the island side cannot be underestimated either, as he finished fourth top run scorer in the ultimately disappointing European Division Two campaign and second highest wicket-taker with the competition’s best figures of five for 25.
He will undoubtedly be an integral part of Guernsey’s push for promotion from World Cricket League Division Seven at the start of next season.
