LE MONT SAINT tightened their grip on the Yorkshire Guernsey Division One with victory over the Island Under-21s.
In yet another close match, the league leaders edged out the juniors 84-82 on Wednesday night at Beau Sejour.
‘Overall I’m pleased, everyone played really well,’ said Saints’ Pete Beausire.
‘I think the under-21s probably let their heads down in the fourth quarter and gave a few turnovers away, which allowed us to build a lead.’
The league’s top scorer, Saints’ James Tracey (pictured), netted 27 points, as did teammate and big man Mike Beausire.
Guard Jason Hooper top scored for the U-21s with 20 points.
‘James played an absolute blinder and Mike did all the hard work under the basket,’ said Pete Beausire.
