North 3, Vale Rec 0
NORTH can now enjoy Christmas having secured the top spot in the league with a comfortable win over Vale Rec on Saturday.
The match went as expected at Northfield as the home side picked up all the points.
‘We were comfortable winners and I’m really pleased,’ said North coach Mick Le Prevost.
‘The players have now got a break for a couple of weeks. We can have a good Christmas at the top of the league. That’s where we want to stay.’
A lot was made before the Division One match of the fact that Le Prevost, because of absences, was turning to a couple of his juniors for the Grand Fort Road derby, but Vale Rec themselves had turned to younger players as they were short as well.
All but three of the yellow and greens were in their early 20s or teens.
