IN SPITE of recording a complete blank in the club’s last competition of the year, Shane Huxster (pictured) is the West Coast Sea Angling Club’s overall champion.
It is the third year in succession he has achieved the top honour, which is a record for the club.
The last event was a six-hour harbour shore match, which attracted 12 members.
Seven weighed-in the total catch consisting of three grey mullet, 36 lesser-spotted dogfish, five pout, one bass, one conger, two shore rockling, one three-bearded rockling and one black bream.
The winner was Sam Robins, who had two grey mullet, for 9-10-0 and 78.5 points.
The competition kitty was shared between Scott McMillan who had the heaviest pout, 1-7-0 and Robins who had the heaviest bag excluding conger and lesser spotted, which the club do not weigh but simply award a straight points value.
