Guernsey will host the Kent League
Wednesday 24th December 2008, 2:30PM GMT.
IN A twist of fate, Guernsey have been pulled out of the bag to face the Kent County League in the 2009/10 FA Carlsberg National League System Cup.
The Kent League has been in the local news a lot of late as ‘Guernsey United’, who are now known as Guernsey Athletics, have made plans to try and join it.
The Guernsey team, under the banner of the Sure Mobile Senior County League, will now play the Kentish representative side in the preliminary round of the NLS Cup.
It will be a home fixture for the island side and must be played before 11 April.
New coach Tony Vance (pictured) said that he was pleased to secure a home draw in a competition in which the Sarnians have fared well previously.
