Rangers 0, Belgraves 2
COME April, Bels could look back on Saturday as a vital afternoon in their quest to retain the Priaulx Cup.

For so long it looked as if their visit to St Andrew’s would end in a stalemate, particularly with the match’s outstanding player Dave Rihoy being thwarted by Tom Le Tissier on several occasions.

But with 19 minutes remaining, the champions finally broke the deadlock through Scott Bradford and, within a minute, they had made the points safe thanks to Simon Marley’s penalty.

It meant that North’s lead in the title race has been reduced to two points when the chocolate-and-blues would have been hoping that Rangers might do them a favour.

Rangers did have chances to do so but, in a game low on quality, it was the visitors who always looked the more likely to find the net.
