SIGNIFICANT growth is expected at FirstRand Trustees Ltd in the next few years.

The trust company was known as RMB International (Channel Islands) Ltd until October. Four years before that it was the Ansbacher Trust Company.

The latest branding has been welcomed by FirstRand Trustees managing director Geoff Gavey, pictured. He sees it as an important step in the company further establishing itself in Guernsey and beyond.

It coincided with the recent launch of FirstRand Private Wealth Management by FirstRand International Wealth Management, which is part of the South African-based integrated financial services group.

As part of this new offering, it was decided the wealth management division’s Guernsey-based fiduciary business would itself be relaunched and rebranded as it would be supporting the new product range, which is focusing on international clients in the UK, the Middle East and Africa, whereas previously it has just provided trust services to its client base in South Africa.

Mr Gavey said it was an exciting time for the local office, which is the only trust company FirstRand has internationally.
