0456015.jpgTHE Guernsey Judo Frascati Club put up a good show at the recent Harris Open National Tournament.

With the aid of sponsorship from Kings Life, four members of the club – Roberto Mascherucci, Angelo Dorey, Alex Mann and debutant Dan Bishop – all took part in the London event.

But undoubtedly the star for islanders was the club’s player-coach Mascherucci (pictured).

The 37-year-old, who won gold at last year’s Island Games, was curtailed by a back injury but came away with a silver medal in the 73kg class.

He also gained his competition third dan.

‘I’m so thrilled to have won the silver medal and to have gained my third dan, especially after a six-month recovery from a serious knee injury,’ he said.
