TICKETS have gone on sale for island sport’s biggest annual celebration which, this year, has athletics legend Steve Cram at its chief guest.

The Carey Olsen Sporting Achievement Awards will be presented to the island’s leading sports men and women at the Guernsey Sports Commission’s annual celebration of sport to be held at the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre on Wednesday 14 January.

The awards recognise and celebrate the sporting achievements of islanders, with awards for individuals, teams, coaches and juniors and the induction of the latest Guernsey sports star into the prestigious Guernsey Sports Hall of Fame.

Tickets cost a token £1 and are available from Beau Sejour. The event will start at 7.30 in the Dave Ferguson Hall.

All sports fans are invited, said Sports Commissioner and managing partner of Carey Olsen, John Greenfield.

‘The awards aim to recognise local sports men, women, boys and girls for their accomplishments.
