LEADERS North can jump five points clear of Bels tonight.
The chocolate-and-blues face Rovers under the Northfield lights and victory over the bottom-placed side, who have yet to register a win in the league this season, would put the hosts on 26 points from 11 games.
‘It’s a game we need to win, especially after Saturday,’ said North boss Mick Le Prevost.
The weekend saw North crash out in the quarter-finals of the Crimestoppers Guernsey FA Cup at the hands of Bels.
North’s great rivals themselves meet Rovers in the league on Saturday at Port Soif.
Bels’ chances of regaining the league title have been hampered by island striker Marc McGrath and Billy Page moving to St Martin’s.
Le Prevost refused to comment as to whether he felt his own team’s chances of claiming the league, which they won the season before last, had improved with the goings on at Bels.
