Striker McGrath becomes a Saint
Wednesday 7th January 2009, 2:30PM GMT.
MARC McGRATH has left Bels to join St Martin’s.
The 22-year-old striker (pictured) put in a transfer request just before the 31 December deadline and the paperwork is currently with the Guernsey Football Association.
It is expected to go through in time for St Martin’s Division One clash with Vale Rec on Saturday.
McGrath explained the reasons behind his decision.
‘Just for a change to be honest – I’ve been at Bels for 10 years,’ he said.
‘I think it’s going to do my football good. The old man [his father John] has got a lot of contacts at St Martin’s and I get on well with the people up there.
‘We’ll see how it goes.’
