THE annual fun trial, raising funds for Caritas Community Charitable Trust, took place at Portelet on the last Sunday before Christmas.
As in previous years, the riders dressed up and this year the theme was Zombies. Pale faces, scars, fake blood and torn clothes were everywhere.
Unlike the other trials, all competitors rode in the afternoon, with juniors competing against the seniors and clubmen competing against the experts.
Tom Scott won the red route, only dropping four points, with Ian Le Patourel taking second place.
Neil Sarre was the highest-placed clubman, finishing fifth ahead of Chris McClean, an expert rider.
Elisha Benstead won the blue route, beating Mark Corlett by one point, proving that when she moves into seniors early next year she will be a worthy competitor.
