North 6, Rovers 1
NORTH cemented their place at the top of the table last night despite a lacklustre victory over Rovers at Northfield.

It certainly was not a vintage North performance, but the result sees them move five points clear of great rivals Bels.

The chocolate-and-blues’ boss Mick Le Prevost was clearly not a happy man with his team’s efforts afterwards.

‘It was pretty poor, to be fair,’ he said.

‘They worked harder off the ball than us. Maybe we turned up thinking we were going to get three points.

‘I’m pleased with the points, but I’m not pleased with the performance.’

It was Rovers, who are anchored to the base of the league having lost all their matches so far this campaign, who took a shock early lead.
