0611606.jpgANDY PRIAULX has confirmed he will be back in the BMW touring car when the 2009 world championship season opens in Brazil in early March.

And the Guernseyman can look forward to a new circuit as he bids to win back the drivers’ title he lost to Frenchman Yvan Muller.

Morocco has been added to the schedule with a new street circuit in Marrakech (formerly Marrakesh) providing the challenge for the third weekend of the nine-month season.

BMW Motorsport had delayed a decision on whether it would be on the WTCC grid in 2009 until yesterday.

It came much to the delight of the triple world champion.

‘This is my other family and I can’t wait to get going again next season.

‘We have a clear aim and that is to get the drivers’ championship title back. The team worked hard in 2008 and it was not through lack of effort that the title went elsewhere.

‘However, I know that the moment the last race was over in Macau, Bart Mampaey and his amazing team of guys in Belgium were plotting how we could take our fifth title together,’ said the Sarnian star who will be behind the wheel of the tried and trusted BMW 320si.’
