Le Tissiers make it a family affair

0570717.jpgTHE Le Tissier family did Guernsey proud at the 2009 Devon Junior Badminton Tournament.

Held at Torbay Leisure Centre recently, brothers Glenn and Luke and sister Chloe (pictured), who are the children of local sport stars Carl and Jane, produced the goods.

And it was the eldest sibling Glenn who really shone, in winning the under-17 singles and then doubles, with fellow Sarnian Nick Abbott, who also did excellently.

In the U-17 singles, Glenn got the better of the number one seed in his opening match.

He had been down 9-14 and facing match point before he dug deep to win 15-14.

His next two times on court were easier as he won 15-6, 15-7 to secure his place in the final, which he claimed 21-17.

Abbott did not have such a good time in the U-17 singles as he lost out to Glenn’s final opponent in his first match.
