Dyer blow hits North ahead of Saints clash
Friday 16th January 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
Glyn Dyer has injured a muscle in his chest and is set to be out for a month.
COLIN FALLAIZE claims North will be more afraid of his St Martin’s team than vice versa when the two sides meet tomorrow.
North lead Division One with 28 points while Saints, who were tipped for big things this season having picked up a number of signings during the summer, including island captain Matt Warren from Sylvans, find themselves in fourth place on 16.
But with new addition Marc McGrath making an immediate impact on his debut against Vale Rec last weekend, when the striker scored a hat trick in the 3-1 victory, the black-and-whites now look like a serious outfit.
And North will experience how potent they now are at Blanche Pierre Lane tomorrow afternoon.
‘It’s a mightily important game for them and it’s an important game for us, as we want to keep in touch,’ said Saints boss Fallaize.
‘But they will be a little bit more afraid of us than we are of them.
‘You’ve always got to fancy your chances against North. That’s a confidence thing.’
