Women’s champs dig deep to win

Nashcopy (in white) take on Orchard PR in the men’s league.
SAVILLS 1 saw off NashCopy as the OSA Recruitment Women’s League restarted following the Christmas break.
The defending champions settled into their stride early and their steady play and experience saw them create many chances as they took the first set 25-13.
For their part, NashCopy made many mistakes and the spikers were yet to find their range.
The second set was a different story, with errors coming from Savills, combined with an improved performance from NashCopy.
Julie Elmy was left scrambling to put up sets from wild Savills digs, so it was a gutsy performance that saw them extend their lead to 2-0.
The line-up changed for both teams in the third, with setters Sarah Hoskins and Karen Archenoul taking to the court.
This set was again close with both teams fighting hard for every point, but it was Savills who capitalised on the change and edged a hard-fought set by just a few points to seal the match.
