Cenkos Yobbos 5, Coreix Unwantables 0
CENKOS YOBBOS have got one hand on the league title after crushing second-placed Coreix Unwantables on Saturday.
In a heated match at Foote’s Lane, Yobbos scored five goals with no response from last year’s champions.
The result means that they are now more than 10 points clear at the top with six matches remaining.
‘The game today was critical,’ said Yobbos captain Steve Queripel.
‘If they had beaten us they would have been right in it. They probably realised that.
‘We fully deserved to win. I don’t think they played particularly well.’
The champions-elect came close to scoring in the first minute through their potent weapon – a Ben Allberry short-corner drag flick.
But his scud missile flick rattled into the crossbar instead of stretching the net.
