MICHELLE WARD wrapped up her third Island Open Tenpin Bowling Championships in fine style.

The 54-year-old part-time secretary previously won the title in 2000 and 2003.

But an excellent average of 203 over six games, which included a game high of 236, in the 2008 championships saw her lift the silverware.

‘I’m pleased because it was third time of winning the title,’ said Ward.

‘I was quite happy with how I played. I was totally focused as I really, really wanted it.’

Lauren Hurford secured second place with an average of 183.33 followed by Chantelle Hale with 180.67.

The other finalists were Linda Robilliard, Joanne Johnson and Janette de Garis.

In the men’s event, Paul Balshaw was victorious with an average of 202.90 over the 10 games.
