Dorset 3, Guernsey 1
IT WAS the age-old problem for the Guernsey under-18 side on Saturday.
Over the last few years the island’s junior sides have struggled with slow starts when facing opposition from the UK.
And it was no exception when the U-18 Sarnians took on their Dorset counterparts at Dorchester.
‘With the pace of the game – the Guernsey lads didn’t get into it quick enough,’ said the island U-18 boss, Paul Ockleford.
‘We don’t play enough at this level. I’m always disappointed when we lose.
‘I’m gutted, but you’ve got to look at the positives. There were a lot of good performances.’
