Hit-and-runner rams skip into Durand houses

0709979.jpgA SKIP was rammed into houses in Mount Durand early yesterday by a large vehicle which failed to stop.

Numbers 33 and 35 were damaged in the 6am incident, the latter suffering the worse.

Gary Ozanne, 47 (pictured), who had moved there only two months ago, was left with a broken window, a door which he could not shut, a broken gutter and damaged pillars by the front door.

He had left for his job as a postman 15 minutes before the incident.

‘People across the road had a skip next door that was full up,’ he said.

‘Apparently a vehicle came down, hit the skip and rammed it into this house. It smashed the window, so I had to mend that. I couldn’t open the front door so I quickly planed that down.

‘I wasn’t annoyed. It was one of those things. I was going to paint the front door, so it’s just as well I didn’t.’
