ST JACQUES have finally won an away JRA League game after seven years of trying.

Saints travelled to Jersey on Sunday to face a Les Quennevais side whom they had beaten at home earlier in the season.

And they did the double over the Caesareans as they held on for a three-point victory.

The result also sees them leapfrog Les Quennevais into fifth place in the league.

‘I knew before the game that this was going to be our day and I told the players that this was their time to finally get rid of this albatross that was hanging around our necks,’ said St Jacques coach Chris Griffiths (pictured) after the victory.

‘I asked for great physicality and belief today and that is exactly what they brought to the table.

‘There were some very brave performances from all quarters and to a man they gave everything for the win.’
