Fifty jobs at risk as NRG looks to go Dutch

0399752.jpgUP TO 50 staff at NRG International are set to lose their jobs as proposals to move the company to the Netherlands look certain to get the go-ahead.

Following an independent review, Guernsey-based NRGi, the international arm of NRG Group plc, a subsidiary of the Ricoh Company of Japan, will be integrated with Ricoh International management – both being based at offices in Amstelveen.

Plans will now be put to the Ricoh Europe Works Council and an answer is expected in less than two weeks.

‘It’s not totally bleak as far as Guernsey is concerned,’ said managing director Paul Wilkinson (pictured).

‘People will be given an opportunity to apply for jobs in the new organisation in Amstelveen.

‘Unfortunately, if people do not want to do this, they will be made redundant.’

Some functions are set to remain in Guernsey, including IT and remote or home working opportunities for some managerial roles.
