A MOTOCROSS bike and riders’ kit from the early 1980s was on show as the island’s scramblers celebrated the club’s first 25 years.

The Guernsey Kart and Motor Club LBG reached the silver anniversary milestone last October. Unfortunately there were no champagne celebrations at that time as the riders were still in the middle of the 2008 season.

Instead it was decided that celebrations would take place at the annual trophy presentation at the start of the following year, which was held at the L’Eree Bay Hotel.

The 1980s equipment emphasised how much the technology behind the sport has changed over the years.

Alongside the bike and kit were the many trophies to be given out on the first motocross presentation night 25 years ago.

Many of the 1983 riders came along to reminisce and support the 2008 trophy presentations.
