Sign of tough times

FAMILY-RUN business Sign Service in Braye Road, Vale, is to cease trading.
But the current owners are hopeful that a buyer can be found to secure its longer term future.
Managing director Ned Meinke, 29, and his father, Chris, 61, bought the 35-year-old company in 2007.
Prior to doing so, Ned Meinke had worked in manufacturing.
He said Sign Service had seen the amount of work tail off in the current economic climate.
Six months ago, the business had been writing signs for 10 vans a week. Now it was down to two.
‘We’ve decided to cease trading as a prudent measure to avoid letting anybody down,’ he said.

Take your business home with you. If you can’t make a profit here then it is worth jacking it in. Times are very tough. Luxuries are a thing of the past. Dreams are just that. Production can be whatever we wish to make them.
Nobody needs a high profile place to trade from! Skills and the finished product is all that counts.
Cut all overheads and reap the benefits. People pay for a service and the place of business is a secondary result.
This result is helping those that don’t need any help.
Take your business home with all of you. Reap the benefits!

Simply cut overheads to the bare minimum. Work from home. Out of a van or where ever. Rents on this Island are crazy.
People wanting a product or service want just that. Cosy places to do business from are a luxury that lots can do without.
