Defending champion is in imperious form

0407106.jpgTHE top four seeds of the Island Snooker Championship are through to the semi-finals, with a guaranteed meeting in the final between a Galactico and a Chirper.

On a night when all four quarter-finals were held, Adam Shorto (pictured) shone brightest with an imperious display of cueing against Jess de la Haye.

The top seed rarely missed in taking less than an hour to despatch the snooker debutant, who had beaten Glenn Le Prevost 3-1 in the last 16, compiling breaks of 57 and 58 in opening a 2-0 lead.

Another 30+ effort ended the match and on this form it is hard to see anyone wresting the title from the defending champion.

Shorto will play Adrian Lihou in the semis after his teammate prevailed 3-2 against John Skillett.
