THE Channel Island Stock Exchange added two more accolades and achievements to a fantastic year last night.

Not only was it named the BWCI Best Medium Business at the 2008 Guernsey Awards for Achievement, it also walked away with the biggest prize of the night – the Commerce and Employment Guernsey Business of the Year.

It capped off a wonderful 2008 for the exchange as during the past 12 months it celebrated its 10th anniversary, the approval of its 3,000th security and moved past the 50 mark for number of members.

Chief executive Tamara Menteshvili said she was stunned to have come out on top of not just one, but two sections.

For the medium business award it was chosen ahead of Schroders Private Banking and advertising, design and marketing firm The Partnership.

In the biggest award of the night it defeated best small business winner The Learning Company and best large business Investec Private Bank.
