THE standard of swimming within Guernsey has again shown how well it compares with the best in England.
In recent heats held at Beau Sejour, the Grammar School junior boys’ team and the junior girls’ team from the Ladies’ College got into the top 30 schools in England, which is a wonderful achievement and an inspiration to all other local swimmers.
It was also impressive to see the strong support this year given by the secondary schools with Les Beaucamps also getting into the top 50 schools with their boys’ and girls’ teams.
However, the highlight of the trials was that the Elizabeth College intermediate and senior teams have both been selected as teams in the top 16 in the country.
They travel this weekend to Gloucester to take part in the national finals.
