Flights disrupted over weekend
Saturday 7th February 2009, 9:29AM GMT.
FLIGHTS into and out of the island are being disrupted this weekend, with illness among the airport’s firefighters again causing a lack of adequate fire cover.
Flights affected include all Flybe flights to Gatwick and Southampton, while Aurigny are reportedly flying passengers to Jersey on Trislanders for onward connection to the UK.
The disruption is expected to continue until 1pm on Sunday, 8 February, according to a statement from Guernsey Airport, at which point full fire cover is expected to be restored.
Travellers are advised to contact their airlines ‘as soon as practically possible’ to find out the latest situation.

We are becoming the laughing stock of the airline world. This could end up costing Guernsey millions. C’mon, grow-up Guernsey.
