Rangers 2, North 4
NORTH just keep plugging away.

The chocolate-and-blues picked up another vital three points at Rangers on Saturday, which see them stay one behind Division One leaders and defending champions Bels.

With the snow and then the rain that fell during the week, it was a surprise that the match went ahead at all.

But it was no surprise to see the state the St Andrew’s pitch was in.

It resembled a giant mud pie with a sprinkling of green ‘hundreds and thousands’.

It was safe to say the game was never going to be Brazil circa 1970, but it sparked alive within the first three minutes when Craig Young got on the end of a Gareth Holden cross to put North ahead.
