COLLINS STEWART’S season keeps gaining momentum.
The defending champions had something of a shaky start to their basketball league campaign, but they have turned it around of late.
Following on from their victory against high-fliers Le Mont Saint, they overcame the Island Under-21s 75-67 at the weekend at Beau Sejour.
‘The team is coming together,’ said Collins’ veteran centre Nigel Govett who, due to a long-term knee injury, coached the side on the night. ‘There wasn’t enough training going on in the first half of the season.
‘The juniors played well again, but they ran out of depth.
‘For us it was a case of letting everyone play, because later on in the season it’s all going to be about our depth.’
The game swung one way and then the other with the undermanned U-21s competing well against an island-star studded CS outfit.
