Chris faces his big test

CHRIS SIMPSON goes up against one of Britain’s rising squash stars this afternoon.
The Sarnian achieved his initial goal at the National Championships yesterday in Manchester as he came from behind to reach round two.
However, the number 15 seed did suffer an early scare against Jaymie Haycocks.
The qualifier got off to a flyer, taking the first game quickly, 11-5.
Simpson took the next two with relative comfort, 11-4, 11-5, but had to save several game balls in the fourth to avoid a decider.
Simpson took the match on his first match ball, 12-10, as Haycocks, much to his own disgust, tinned a ‘sitter’.
‘I went 9-1 down in the first game, but then got a bit of composure back to come through in four,’ Simpson said afterwards.
