Valentine wedding is ‘just a happy coincidence’
Monday 16th February 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
LOVE was in the air at Vale Church on Saturday afternoon.
Guernsey-born Jayne Ferbrache and Michael Evans, from Jersey, tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in front of friends and family from both islands.
Mr Evans, 52, an RE teacher at Victoria College in Jersey, met Ms Ferbrache, a 49-year-old nurse, through a dating agency 18 months ago.
It was a first marriage for both the bride and groom who exchanged their vows at Miss Ferbrache’s parish church.
Mr Evans said it was a happy coincidence that the date fell this year during half-term.
‘I am a bit of an old romantic, so when I noticed that Valentine’s Day happened to fall on the Saturday we went for it straight away,’ he said.
The reception was held at St Pierre Park Hotel and the couple are honeymooning in the Maldives.
