EX-SERVICE CHIRPERS will rarely have a better week in the Image Group Premier Division.

Not only did they edge out their fiercest rivals in their third league meeting, but a second match for Gremlin Galacticos failed to yield the points they needed to reclaim top spot outright.

With the previous two meetings between the Chirpers and the Galacticos resulting in a 7-5 win for the home team on both occasions, the Chirpers were eager for a repeat at the Ex-Service.

They got off to a good start too as Adrian Holley secured the first frame with a 54 break.

Glenn Le Prevost’s break of 42 swung the match around, but with Holley playing the best snooker on the night, he wrapped up a 2-1 win as the Chirpers built a two-frame advantage.

Paul Le Sauvage’s own 2-1 victory kept the Galacticos in touch, but with Ian Platt and Martyn Desperques both winning their openers, the Chirpers’ lead extended to 6-3.
