CONTROVERSIAL road humps outside St Andrew’s School were removed yesterday.
The three speed cushions were installed in St Andrew’s Road in July 2005.
Initially a temporary measure, they were regarded by parishioners as dangerous.
Vehicles have often been seen to drive around the humps rather than over them.
They were installed to slow traffic and make it safer for children crossing the road. But residents in the area believed that they did more harm than good.
Nearly four years on, the Environment Department has decided to remove them and install new traffic-easing measures.
A raised ramp will be installed and will run the width of the road, ensuring motorists cannot avoid it.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
One surefire way of slowing traffic it is put in a permanent speed camera!!!

Wil
That would work. However it would also be very ugly and give the feral kids on this Island something extra to vandalise.
