SPECTATORS flocked to Pleinmont for the third motocross meet of the year as local rider Marc Cox and Harry Bertram from Jersey fought for top honours in the Holeshot-sponsored event.

With a few laps to go in the first race, Cox passed Bertram at the top of the valley and secured the win.

Although the final score was 2-1 to the Jerseyman, Cox secured the lead for the Alan De La Mare Trophy with all three Holeshots.

This year has seen some of the junior riders move up to the adult ranks – Elliot Bates, Chip Le Page and Luke Lesbirel into the MX2 class with Eloise Boucher to the MX Open class.

In the first MX2 race all three boys finished close together, but Bates suffered mechanical failure, which ruined the rest of his day as Lesbirel and Le Page went on to post some impressive results.
