Table lamp thought to have been cause of fire in bedroom

A BEDROOM was badly damaged by fire yesterday.
It is believed it was caused by a table lamp.
A man in Kingstone, Rue des Varendes, Castel, smelt smoke and called the Fire & Rescue Service. He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
‘We were called to the fire at 10am,’ said duty officer Andy Mauger.
‘The fire was contained in one bedroom, although there was smoke in other areas of thehouse.’
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze, which was out by 10.40.
The building is structurally sound.
Traffic was disrupted for a short time while firefighters were in attendance.
