John Frankland’s Altair on its way to being third cruiser over the line.
BOTH classes are wide open following race four of six in the Heritage Group Frostbite Winter Series.
There was a later start for the fourth event of the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club competition in order to work the tides more conveniently and the weather continued to be kind despite a threatening forecast.
Eighteen yachts were on the line, including five cruisers, with a force four south-westerly breeze and bright skies.
An interesting course was set with all yachts rounding the island of Jethou, but with the cruisers approaching from the south and the racers from the north.
The two groups passed each other when among the rocks south of the island, but there was little difficulty in collision avoidance.
As usual, the cruisers had a slightly shorter course to sail and it was Glory Days (Huntley and Hunt) that led the way to Anfre.
