Merrien defends British title

ALISON MERRIEN puts her British indoor title on the line in Belfast next week.

The best of British come together in the Northern Ireland capital for the week-long championships and international series, but the CI’s representation is restricted to the knockouts.

Merrien also plays in the fours competition with fellow islanders Sheila Bretel, Jill Froome and Jan Lawrence.

Shirley Petit, Angela Bartie and Carol Ingrouille play in the triples, while among the men Matt Le Ber skips a Sarnian fours squad of Garry Collins, Nigel Collins and Gary Pitschou.

Guernsey are also represented in the over-60s fours by Phil Schofield, Richard Hill, Dave Lock and John Martel.
