Bels to face Saints

The Division One runners-up edged past Rangers 2-1 in Saturday’s semi-final at Blanche Pierre Lane to book their final place.

They will play St Martin’s, who were 3-0 winners over Officemaker on Friday night, in the showpiece occasion on Wednesday 8 April.

‘You can see from the performance that the boys are still down from Tuesday night,’ said Bels assistant coach Shane Totty (pictured), standing in for Micky Ogier, who was ill.

‘This was a terrible game really.’

A Ryan Gontier own goal had given Bels the lead, which was doubled by Dave Rihoy before Shane Billien scored a consolation for Rangers late on.

Saints, however, were relatively comfortable winners over North’s second-string side at the Track and should have scored more.

‘First half we dominated but it went downhill in the second half,’ said Saints’ star midfielder Ben Coulter.
