HEATHER WATSON lost on her professional debut yesterday.
The 16-year-old local star, who is 14th in the world junior rankings, was making her professional senior bow at the £10,000 Bath tournament.
Watson was accepted as the last alternate for the event and she was drawn against Lucia Vrskova of Slovakia in the opening round of the qualifiers.
The Sarnian went down 7-5, 6-2.
She is next in action in next week’s Jersey Open.
