Classy Demore goes through
Monday 23rd March 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
GAGE DEMORE produced an excellent performance in Synwell on Saturday to progress through to the next round of the ABA Western Counties Championships.
The Sarnian was up against Jack Stevens from Gloucestershire in the 39kg weight class and he won each round on his way to a unanimous verdict.
The round scores were 17-7, 13-8, 14-4.
‘It was the best he has ever boxed. He was absolutely outstanding,’ said Amalgamated Boys’ Club assistant coach Clint Roberts of Demore’s display.
‘The first round was a really good round for Gage [pictured] and he just kept it going from there.
‘His opponent, Jack, knew that after the opening round he had to come at Gage, but he could not get through and Gage just countered him brilliantly.’
Demore will join other Sarnians in further Western Counties action in two weeks’ time.
