Hours after sex attack, clubbers party on
Monday 23rd March 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
YOUNG women were shocked to hear of the sex attack in St Peter Port early on Saturday morning.
Many were unaware of the incident as they partied around pubs and clubs the following night.
Leanne Dean, 22, lives in Les Amballes, not for from where the incident took place.
‘I used to walk down there around that time when I worked in Town. I never did it when I was sober, but I thought nothing of it when I was drunk,’ said Miss Dean, who has a four-month-old son.
Laura Gorvel, 24, said it would never cross her mind that something like that would happen in the island.
‘I always felt safer here than when I lived in the UK. I thought Guernsey was safe, but clearly not,’ she said.
Claire Le Prevost, 24, said she told her 18-year-old sister not to walk home – although she used to when she was younger.
The girls said they felt fearless when they had had a drink.
Becks Remfrey, 18, was out with 19-year-old Amy Aylward.
‘If you go out here you always feel like there are people around who you know and that if anything happened, they would be there,’ said Miss Aylward.

I m not saying it is ok at all the- men that do this needs to be hunted down and get there gonads cut off. All i was saying the islanders need to count themself luck that this does not happen all the time.

I used to hate walking through there in the day, I would never walk there at night. I know 2 people over the years who have been assaulted there after a night out. Its pretty scary.

Cluedup, I know what your saying.. but this type of crime is sickening, the lady must have been scared for her life and would not consider herself lucky being the only victim.Lets hope her attacker is caught soon before he stikes again.
