Dewe regains the Sark AC championship
Wednesday 25th March 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
LIZ DEWE has won the Sark AC’s overall championship – the fourth time in the club’s six-year history that a female angler has taken the top honours.
It is in fact her second championship trophy as she also won in the 2004-05 season.
The last match in the club year was a very disappointing affair. Nine members entered the eight-hour roving shore event but only two brought a fish to the scales.
Dewe (pictured) won with a 3-5-0 grey mullet to score 28.25 points, while Glyn Williams found a 1-8-0 lesser-spotted dogfish for 10 points.
It all meant that Dewe had a comfortable overall victory as she finished on 588.25 points, 125.75 ahead of Williams, who finished on 462.5 in second.
The only active junior in the club, Jason Brehaut, finished in a very credible third with 318.25 points.
