A LARGE aerator which dropped from the back of a tractor caused a crash between two cars yesterday afternoon.
The vehicles, one a Ford and the other a Hyundai, swerved to avoid it and crashed into each other at Braye Road, Vale, near Le Coq du Nord public house.
The road was closed for some time and this led to long traffic jams.
An off-duty paramedic reported the accident to the Ambulance and Rescue Service at 3.35pm.
Two ambulances were on the scene by 3.43pm and the crews treated three casualties, none of whom was trapped in their vehicles.
Neither drivers nor passengers sustained serious injuries but one, a 41-year-old local woman, was taken to the Accident and Emergency Department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital as a precaution complaining of neck and back pain and tenderness to the chest area.
The other two, a 53-year-old woman and 48-year-old man, both from Guernsey, were treated at the scene for whiplash.
The Fire & Rescue Service was called and made the area safe.
