GUERNSEY Post has been awarded a Keep Guernsey Green Award.
The award recognises its efforts in waste management.
Environment minister Deputy Peter Sirett presented the company with the accolade yesterday.
Chief executive Gordon Steele said he was pleased with what Guernsey Post had achieved so far, but it was only the start because it had more initiatives.
‘We are looking at other important issues such as our energy usage, at our lighting systems and how they can be adapted to be switched off individually, our air-conditioning systems which are being tested and assessed, and by monitoring what we use.
‘We have already managed to halve our oil consumption over our previous year’s figure,’ he said.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Reasonably impressive but an element of ‘greenwash’ here. The amount of junk mail i get through my letter box each year is enough to make you cry. I don’t want it, the Post Office earns off it.
