ODYSSEY Marine Exploration, the company that discovered the wreck of HMS Victory, is hoping to explore Alderney waters.
Odyssey director Aladar Nesser revealed the plan yesterday after holding talks with the President of the States, Sir Norman Browse.
Mr Nesser said there were shipwrecks that might be in Alderney waters that his company would like to take a look at.
‘I have asked if they [States of Alderney] would be interested in working on a joint project. We have been in discussions with Alderney Maritime Trust and there is a possibility of us being able to work together on a project,’ he said.
Odyssey approached the States last year and was told that any application to explore Alderney waters had to go via the trust.
Mr Nesser went on to reveal that Odyssey had invited trust members to observe the Victory project.
‘It will be a good opportunity for them to see us in action.’

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
It will be prudent for the Alderney Commission for Renewable Energy to save themselves £100,000 and use this opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
The mapping and data would be beneficial to both parties and it needs to be done regardless.
