Skatepark has neighbours’ consent

Graham SmaleNEIGHBOURS of the planned Beau Sejour skatepark have so far given it their consent.

Residents of the area around the leisure centre and Cambridge Park and the manager of Les Cotils Christian Centre have stated their support.

Les Cotils manager Graham Smale (pictured) said the issue had been discussed at meetings with the trustees and with directors.

‘We are fine with it. No real objections have been raised,’ he said.

‘Overall, we feel that young people need a place for their activities and we want to be supportive.’

He said that when he was a boy there had been greater freedom and less traffic and he would like to see people be more tolerant of youth.

‘Most young people enjoy themselves without causing a nuisance – it is usually if they are not occupied that they get bored and problems may ensue, but here they will have a lot to occupy them.’
